If you really want to make a bold statement, just fall over and sue the council for the works done. A bit far fetched, but lets be honest we've all seen that lady fallen over from an accident that 'wasn't her fault'? claiming 1000's of pounds for pretty much nothing. Wouldn't advise it... but it's an option!

Here's the thing. You guys have no idea how good your roads actually are.

living in the states and Canada, I have been disgusted with the state of their roads. You have never seen potholes like they have, and it could be argued that they need to drive those huge gas-guzzling trucks just to get around.
UK roads are amazingly well maintained by comparison.
