Barrel Length

Hey, i'm just wondering if i would see a significant increase in accuracy or range or anything like that, if i got a longer barrel. I'm looking at an CF Boomstick

Choice between 15" or 17"

This is looking like it will be on an etek 3 LT

Nope no noticable difference at all

No due to the fact you will still have to chrono your marker to 280/300 fps. Bore matching paint is the better option

a longer barrel doesn't help with accuarcy, i've used a gun with a stubby little barell (not sure on length) and it was still very accurate, the thing that makes the diferrence is the bore size, this helps with efficiency and accuracy,

length of the barrel has no affect on accuracy as long as it is honed to a decent level.

Same with Bore. Underbore is statistically better but not enough evidence to state it is more accurate as the difference is so minute. paint to bore match is proven to be the least accurate, but still its incredibly minute.

Having a clean gun and decent paint.

fairly sure I've read six inches of barrel is the optimal lengh for getting up to speed and putting the ball on a straight course, any more can actually inhibit accuracy. It's all different with proper gun barrels though.

The biggest thing to effect accuracy (beyond paint quality) is yourself. And thats down to practice.

i'm sure i've also seen something about the actual barrel length needed isn't that big at all.

begs the question, why are we all using barrels around the 14 mark?

whats wrong with the etek's original barrel...bugger spending £130 on a new one lol!!!

Spend that money on a couple of days hard training with someone teaching you how to shoot better....

If you go for a longer barrel your gun will shooter further, no doubt.
With a 16" it'll shoot further than with a 14" barrel.
