Hi All.

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

Live in West Sussex, big fan of the Walk-On Events at Holmbush.

Currently in the process of making a working P90 (basically an utter bodge-job) with a BT4.
AKA - BT90.

Its 90% finished so I will be posting up some details soon so watch this space.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I kinda noticed this site caters more for Tourney/Speedallers.
The more I read about them the more i get confused.

If I was looking to buy a Tourney marker for say £200 what are my options? I've heard SmartParts Ions are good. And I see alot of kudos for Ego/Etek markers. Hence the MASSIVE confusion.

I just want something which is the opposite of my BT4/BT90...Small, simple and purposeful with easy maintenance.

All comments welcome.

avoid ions like the plague for reasons i cant be bothered getting into, but basically they were a first and poor attempt at making an affordable high performance marker.

etek's have a huge reputation for a reason: most reliable and best shooting guns for their price range out there. other markers such as invert mini's also shoot great for their price but etek's are the best starting marker in my opinion. some of the older egos have different design flaws especially those using QEV's and the like so if you have a little faith and just go buy an etek for sub £200 you will not be dissapointed.

best advice is just really do your homework and reasearch the guns and see what some guns can offer that others can't. alot of it will come down to personal taste too :)

Tinkering ain’t easy
Got to disagree with Liam on the Ion front, great gun, cheap cheerful, easy to fix and a plethora of bits avaliable. This gun single handly changed the tourney landscape by being cheap and good and able to keep up with guns much more expensive. The are brilliant and can be picked up here 2nd hand for as little as £40.

Planet eclipse guns are extremely reliable and you will find most people in the UK now shoot Planet guns.

There are lots of good guns for sub £200; Egos/Eteks, DMs, Angels, Creeds etc. My advice would be get down to a local site see what people have and ask to have a go as you may find one type of gun suits your playing style better than another.

Ion is a fantastic starter gun, plenty of upgrades available, infact I think you can pretty much replace every single part on them with aftermarket ones. They just aint as shiny as some of the more expensive markers.

Like sid says, try and get a go on as many as you can you'll soon find one you love. For instance, I personally love the way DMs/PMs feel and shoot and am not so keen on the Ego markers. I know that many people prefer them though, like with anything, it's personal preference and you'll soon discover what floats your boat.

Thanks for the info guys. Much apprecited. Looking at your replies the etek sounds like a good option. Although u may have sold me on the ion.
I've also had a message about a PMR for sale on here.
I've looked on some sites e.g. Justpaintball and the EGO/Etek guns are very expensive. Any good shops I should noknow about?

I'm going to a walk-on on 5th June so will ask around then.

Again thanks for ur helpful messages.
