Every now and again on this forum we get things happen that stretch the imagination or our incredulity .... it's always just a matter of time.

A lot of you guys in this thread will maybe know, I have imposed a new set of conditions for anyone who wishes to advertise; I'll flesh these out in a minute so hang on a bit please.

I enforced these conditions because some people [promoters] were just taking the pi$$; this site is not some people's personal billboard set up so they can advertise their money making events for nothing ... I got no problem in helping people out as a lot of people on here can already testify but when some people take the pis$ as they inevitably do, then it's time to change the goalposts .. and I did.

The promoters who run these events make a fair few quid when they hold them, if they didn't, they wouldn't be holding them, end of!!
They might protest, 'Oh no Pete, really mate, we don't make any money, we do it for the spirit of the game and for the players .. blah ..blah ... blah '' ..... fuhking liars !!!!

That's what they are ... fuhkin liars !!!!! ......

Anyway, excuse me while I just pop my jugular vein back in my neck here ..... people who lie their ass off when telling us they are doing ballers a favour really pis$ me off .. apologies for swearing.

OK I'll crack on ... the conditions I imposed on anybody who wishes to advertise their business on my site [my business] are that, if you have a one-off event and wish to advertise it then it will cost you £20 and for that, I'll throw in their own forum so that everybody who is thinking of going or going can touch base with each other ... so for £20 frikkin quid they can advertise their event and also get their own forum ...£20 .. that's all.
Now you'd think it's a nominal sum ... and you'd think that because .... it is a nominal sum .... but rather than pay that .... some promoters try to get round it and set people up to post the details of their event on here .... it's absolutely pathetic and if I get one more instance of it .. I will make 100% sure they will regret it because I will make damned sure everybody knows on here exactly what I want them to know and whereas some of these promoters can't open their mouths without lying, I will be telling the whole truth ... you run that risk if you try to do this sh!t again.

And these people know who I am referring to here and if you think you can stop me from doing anything .... you can't ..... it's beyond you.

They're going through a load of cr** because they don't want to pay £20?

Talk about penny pinching. Own forum, European-wide advertisement in the single most popular paintballing place in Europe.... £20 is pretty cheap. You could spend that amount on fliers and posters, and wouldn't get as much interest in the event.

Bacon ... as you say, and without blowing our own trumpet, yes, we are the most popular European paintball forum and most visited site in Europe but you'd think £20 quid was nothing compared to what these people will be shoving in their back-pockets but they are sooo too small minded, petty and vindictive to do anything else.

They'd rather debase themselves for 20 quid than do the right thing and pay ... this is their mentality .... and because one of them doesn't like me [I did something he didn't like once, I effectively blocked him from becoming something his ego wanted rather than what was best for our paintball scene] they try sh!t like this because they feel it gives them silly little victories that they can rub their hands together thinking about ... problem is, he's too fehking stupid to realise what happens as a consequence ... if they do it again, they'll find out.

And just to make sure they appreciate the severity of the situation, I will tell them something Sergey Leontiev once told me, and to set the scene for those who might not know who Sergey is; he's the guy who owns the Russian Legion and also owns 4 banks in Moscow, this guy is serious, serious money .. Google his name and see what he's about ... he's basically paintball's own Abramovich.

Well, he told me , 'Pete, in any nation, there are four main axis of power, the government, the army, the Religion and last but not least the media.' .... I think the people who pull these silly strokes should think about just why Sergey would say such a thing ...

I have been stung by theses new rules.

I'm a baller and love coming on this forum but wanted to talk about an event that the organiser has not paid to advertise yet as the details arn't finalised.

The problem is when chatting about the event it can be seen as advertising even tho i have nothing to do with it and i think some new rules should be fleshed out here or something so people like me don't get stung again.

What do you mean 'stung', please explain yourself here ..?

And just one thing here Ob, please do not play the wounded party here; be sincere and reasonable and you'll be treated accordingly but I got a sneaking suspicion you've an agenda; just don't let me expose it otherwise you are gonna end up looking pretty small ... I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

I'm saying stung = my thread got removed and i got accused of premoting a event. I just wanted to talk about it and find out who was going. I don't even know the date it's on or whats happening as nothing has been released yet.

"Discuss big games, scenario games, walk-ons, stock class, pumps..."

When i say flesh things out i mean how can we discuss events that have not been paid for? Do we just not discuss them? As there very hard to moderate?

The only agender i have is to meet new people in paintball and thats all and if you speak to anyone that knows me they'll tell you i'm a punter who borrows markers out and tries to help people have fun like i do.

As said before i have just started working for a punter site and it does not cater in anyway to walkon's or anything. When the guy does have the equipment, i'll get him to pay for advertising.

OK, now the reason I added that rider on my last post was because I knew you would reply in such a way ..... your post was taken down because you posted all the event details in the same foramt as an advert, in fact you had copied and pasted a previous ad for the event did you not ???

This is not discussion in any way, this is outright advertising, nobody has ever done what you did before in the process of mere discussion, only you !!!! .... and if my memory serves me right, you also used the words 'I' and 'we' when referring to the site which pretty much implies you are part of the set up ... and yet you claim to have no agenda???

Look, it's plainly obvious to all and sundry what the conditions are and what criterion you need to adhere to .. if you wanna talk to people about the event, then fine, no problem; if you wanna know things about the event, then ring them up or email them .... it's not rocket science here Ob ...

And if you don't wish people to think you're advertising, then don't post an advert mate !!!!!

The question i asked was

How can forum users discuss events that have not been paid for on this site?

It maybe that the details are not out about the event or the organiser does not want to pay for advertising. Wouldn't it be time consuming to check all the posts made if you allow people to post about such events?

Thats all i was trying to say, i didn't want to sound like a knob or anything.
