what are the rules for this record? I assume there's a limit on velocity and have to hit a target a certain size otherwise I'm sticking some paintballs in the freezer and cranking a marker up as high as it will go and bagging myself a world record!
I am not definate about the rules but I know the target is a piece of paper 60x60cm which you need to pierce, the target is around 2 meters off the floor and it is any marker with any paint at less than 300fps. The film showed Andy chrono'd at 265fps.
He was only watching and he took the last spot just because he was there at the time, he didn't go there prepared to win.

Really, then can I respectfully suggest you not use David Blunkett for your Ego testing ....
I haven't put this post up to wave a flag for Angels  or to make other makers look bad :p But I have to say, the results speak a thousand words. If any Ego owners would like to try to hit the target, the challenge will run again at the next Super6 event at NPF on 23rd July, and good luck to all

Niallist, trust me, I already regarded it as a bit of harmless fun and not serious anyway mate .. :)
I didn't think you did to be honest, more of a general point, not aimed at you. :)

Seriously though, you should come and have a go. And check out the Super 6, it would be worth a visit.

Really, remind me again who you work for Leachy??

And as for speaking a thousand words mate, if it really did speak a thousand words then wouldn't we have witnessed an uptake of such a marker by the tournament teams ???

I mean, in the present climate when the sponsorship deals of yesteryear have come and gone, the vast majority of teams are now free to go get whatever gat they want ... which means one of two things in my book, either the tournament team players are all absolute dumb-asses in ignoring such a 'thousand word' gat ... or indeed, the likes of Dye and Planet are producing guns that players prefer .. and in my book, players tend to prefer guns they can rely on and that can perform at the top end ..

But as Niallist suggested Brian, nobody is taking it seriously anyway mate :)

Yeah its all fun Pete and I'm just grabbing the chance to wind everyone up with it :D Records are made to be broken, but I'm gonna get my money's worth out of this while I can :D Marker's don't make the player, the player makes the marker. It's gonna be interesting to see how this goes.

I think the Super 6 is a great idea especially in the present climate; what with Johnny Sosta's Formula 5 series picking up more and more momentum coupled with Jimmy Frenchman/ Tim Taylor's North v South game attracting over 1500 players, I think it's sending a message to people like the Millennium guys that is possibly being ignored.

I think there is a trend these days to move away from the Millennium type game and move toward a more use-friendly atmosphere .. a bit more like the old days I suppose without getting too nostalgic.

What Ged, Nial, Jim, Tim and John are doing is great for generating new-blood players which is what we really need more than anything ... we can only wish them all the luck and try and support them in every way we can.

Hey Bri, I thought that's what you might have been up to :)

And I agree with what makes a player .. the gat certainly helps but not as much as some people make out .. including me :)

the only other rules are that there must be a witness to the chrono at the beginning ( which is videod for evidence as previously stated) there must be two witnesses at the target , this must also be videod and the distance can only be measured by a fully qualified surveyor. other than that its all good!!!

From Timboy on UK Scenario:

"Couple of corrections:

Record was actually 72.02m not 72.2

Also, the next attempt will actually be at ArmoGeddon 6 at YPC in June, followed by Tippmann Challenge in August and Staargate in September. I don't believe there'll be an attempt at Super6/3 at NPF.

Cheers."
