would a live webcast be good in this context? cheaper than a live stream but also can give some action i guess. i woudlnt mind listening to some pb scores while doing chores. :p

I also like the idea of webcasting and youtube. Sadly we need people to do it and there is no budget for it either. There are others that are already doing this in some form and the work that Russ has done at epbn.tv/ is some of the best video wise yet. There's obviously some post processing but I think the results are very good. I also liked Tony's commentary and the fact he forgot he was on mic when he was chatting to the BEEP girls!

However the purpose of this post was to get the opinion of the players in respect of live commentary from the tower after a suggestion of a trial in Bitburg by MS and it appears that the consensus is a that it will not be welcomed. I'll leave the pole running and keep an eye on it but as far as I am concerned Job Done thanks for the input guys.

Fixed
:D

As others have said, blame will be apportioned to the commentator by the disgruntled!

Also, there doesn't seem to be much support for the current Millennium commentator (whoever he might be) in this thread, they all seem to want Mr Truter behind the mic!

I think someone should approach that geezer with the funny, Cali/Brum/Kanuk accent that has commentated at the PSP before!

I think live commentary causes to many problems.

But i'm all for post match analysis, and for people to youtube the vids with commentaries.

Youtubing them is by far the best technique IMO.

Well, how about a compromise?

A live commentary done by a panel of 2 or 3 guys, in the style of The Short Bus?

If you pick the right people, this could be very entertaining.

But who has the wit and knowledge of the game to pull it off?

My pick would be Cook$, Al Woods & Latham.

If you want more interest, I believe having a group of 4/5 persons respected in their country could help you to have not only interest from UK players but from most european countries.
You don't need to have any frenchies in it as most don't understand english anyway :)
