The SPL had 28 teams in 2010.

In order to be in the situation that the CPL faces at the moment, they would have to lose a third of their teams, and I don't see the SPL suddenly losing upwards of 9 of their teams.

As things stand, 2 teams are being promoted, 2 are being relegated, 1 is done, and 1 has bought a CPL spot.

That's a net loss of 4, with a loss of only 1 to the league as a whole.

Now, if anyone has any concrete evidence of a significant number of teams quitting the SPL, let's have it.

On a seperate note, registration opened for PSP Texas last week (23rd January), and they have 102 teams registered, with 12 paid.

News for SPL:
B4 Paris won't be on the field for 2011 (no more motivation for highly competitive paintball, they will only play for fun in local league)
Brussels Crossfire won't play the millenium in 2011 (lack of players)

They often don't display the teams in the locked divisions until later.

Stop making this out to be some sort of soap, I'm surely not the only person you annoy by doing this... Go watch Eastenders or some sh!t to get your frills.

Fish, I don't know where you are coming from with this outburst and to be honest, I don't like your tone.

Fish, as far as I can tell, Jonathan is merely making observations here, and he's also providing our members with a valuable service in terms of keeping them up to date with what's happening in our major leagues.... if people then view this as some sort of soap then that seems to indicate the subject matter is 'soap' material rather than its reporting .... I could of course be wrong here but ... but I ain't.

Come on Fish, lighten up mate, I'd rather read stuff like this than not .... if you don't like its tone, then you have the choice to avoid it, nobody is forcing you; personally, I believe Jonathan does this site and our members a great service and if a little 'drama' infiltrates his comments then it's an extremely small price to pay ... but, on the point you raise, I don't think Jonathan is doing it anyway.

Where's the price comparo? How 'bout kicking in a prize and price comparison? Thank goodness somebody else is doing this; Would you mind if I dropped by to copy and paste a bit? Save me loads of work.

Btw, CEP (Cross Eyed Paintball) is a former PSP D1 team. They may or may not be looking to pick up an established pro or two. I'll make you deal--get the comparo posted and I'll tell you all about CEP as they are coming to Florida for a scrim in a week or two.
