Slow leak on Bottle

I've got a Pure Energy fibre bottle which seems to have a slow leak.

If I take home full, it will gradually empty out over a few days - the bottle loses about 800psi of pressure a day until empty, which I figure is not a good thing and I should avoid using the bottle until the problem is fixed or replace the bottle.

Any ideas about what the problem is? Faulty regulator or bottle issue? Can it be repaired or best to get a new one?

Grateful for any help

Cheers

its normally just one of the disks gone inside, try changing them just let the bottle empty fully.

My list of usual suspects:

Reg - Some regs split in half, they some times come loose, (usually from trying to unscrew the bottle while still attached and pressurised to a marker, or loose grub screws) this is usually where the shims are contained, these can become rusty and dirty. Also the valve pin and spring is also contained. The spring over time may get weakened and so can also be swapped by someone qualified to do so.

Valve pin - can some times come out of alignment and cause a slight leak, not really a problem as when on a marker it leaks even more especially if you apply the oops ;) and usually sorts it's self out. But usually worth checking as the pin can become Rusty also and the oring can get damaged.

Fill nipple - can either leak from the nipple its self or the threads, cause - rust or dirt stopping the valve pin closing properly or the valve pin o-ring deteriorating or a simple case of sealing the threads by someone qualified to do so.

Burst disks - designed to go if over pressurised either to stop bottle damage or marker damage, but you'd know if one of those fully went! also check threads for leakage, may need nipping up or replacing by someone qualified to do so.

Bottle neck - The Reg usually has a big oring at the top of the threads that go inside the bottle, if that gets damaged then may cause a slight leak from the neck, get someone qualified to check/replace if leak is found or could simply not be tight enough, most bottles have to be a set torqe or as with the guerilla set ups hand tight.

Make sure you get someone qualified to carry out any repairs if needed don't attempt unless you know what you're doing. Better safe than dead :)

You're best off sending your bottle off to HPA, they specialise in paintball tanks. You'll be looking at about £30 for a full service for a tank, with P&P on top of that
