Hi i am quite new to the sport.
i currently have an SP vibe and i am looking for another marker.

i have seen a promaster for sale,

is this marker worth buying and how much is one worth second hand?

cheers

promaster

i'm pretty sure gunsmoke were selling these for £80 new a few months ago and ive seen them going for £120 on other sites. not used 1 myself but you dont see them very often on the forums so i'm assuming they're not a sought after marker:D

its all down to your budget maybe try putting a thread up on here to buy a marker and put down how much your prepared to pay for a marker, people will send you links to markers that they want to sell

your best to pick up an etek 1or 2 or an early ego as these markers perform well and may be in your price range

happy hunting

stick with the vibe over the promaster.

as a next step upgrade i'd look at either the older etek/egos as above, or maybe the proto rail.
thanks for the update. i have seen a review on youtube that says the promaster is better than the ion, and as far as i know the vibe is isnt as good as the ion.

fyi my vibe only has the single shot board fitted - would it be worth changing the board on the vibe?

i'd argue that bang for buck the vibe is better value than the ion...

yes, you could switch out the standard board for the blackheart kit and firebolt combo. that'd give you eyes, a lighter board and the ability top fully control the settings on your marker.

with the B/H board you can lower your dwell and greatly improve your efficiency. you can also customise your firemodes too.

under our previous smart parts sponsorship this was the set up they gave us (on SP1s rather than Vibes, but they only differ cosmetically) and they could keep up with the best of them.

end of the day, you want to consider what's best for you. i'd suggest seeing if you can try some ther markers at training and/or walkons and see what you like the feel of.

also consider that vibes, eteks and old egos tend to be easier to sell on than the promasters as well when you upgrade again.

Balance up the cost of a new board compared to a higher end, secondhand gun. If the maths work... it might be worth it.

Promasters go for about £60 used (having just sold one), then if you want to actually be able to use it your gunna have to spend money on after market parts. The stock board can't be capped any lower than 15 bps so if you want to play most events your gunna have to get a new one. Aslo the feedneck is one size only and hoppers such as rotors don't really fit. Hope this helps!
