For a similar price to a SLG get a Proto PMR, i have a 2007 edition i think and honeslty i prefer it to the likes of my mates angels etc, absolutely cracking gun!

this is easys

dont buy a slg theyare guns that work or dont
i mean ur luckly to find 1 with no problems and if u have you are going to get problems they are great looking gun but very hard on paint as it wil break and chop most paint
i have owned 1 so i know what i am talking about :) best thing is to save ur money and go for a ego/etek/dm these guns can be upped so as u grow as a player u can upgrade them as well plus most of people will have spares for these guns
but before u do buy go to a shop/site test them out with paint and then go do bit reseach into the gun u like watch youtube vids read up on them so u have much info about them as possble this help u find the best marker for ur level\money
ps only because it looks sexy doesnt mean it works well:):):)

best started gun you can get in my opinion is a PMR. any PMR from the 07 to the new reflex will be perfect. nice shooting, easy to clean and maintain, very reliable and will be a gun you can compete with at any level without the need to upgrade anything. I had an 07 pmr and played with it for the best part of two years, not one chop, very few barrel breaks and NO serious problems whatsoever.

couldnt reccomend it enough.

as for the halo, thatl do you fine and the tank will do you fine as well, however you might want to look into getting a fiber wrap tank as they are far lighter and it wont be long before yure fed up lugging around a huge chunk of steel on the back of your marker.

Goggles first. If you buy second hand it is sensible to buy a new lense and replace the old one straight away. You want to make sure you're eyes are protected from that 200mph paintball and you don't know how the old owner treated them.

As Bolter said, try as many different guns as you can. If you find out when there's a tournament or walkon near to you go along and ask people what they think of their guns. (Be aware that most people will think they're gun is the best thing since sliced bread!)

It is well worth investing in a fibre wrap tank instead of a steel tank due to the weight of the steel tanks. They are pretty heavy. A second hand one on here will be about £80. Make sure it has a reasonable number of years (3, 4, or 5) left on its test certificate though.

You can save a fortune by buying secondhand off here or at your local site but make sure you know what you're buying and get your parents involved so they can back you up in case anything goes wrong.

Have fun!!!
