hi Liam,a lot of people i know started out either with a bt or A5,they are both "ok" but you tend to spend a lot of money on them (as i did), most ballers end up with a proto/dye, mini or ego. my grandson started with bt and soon changed that to a ion, he has just got a mini. when you are up against the dye's and ego's you soon learn that you need something more accurate and fires quicker, before you spend your money try some of these out, most of the lads will let you fire them, just ask, i did start with a5, spent a fortune on it and it didnot fire much better,i know it is tempting to look like rambo, you can pick up a dye 05-06 for about £120,hope i have'nt confused you more.

forget everything you have heard about scenario markers and listen to this wise man :p
forget about tippmanns... forget about BT's, because the only reason to buy these is the cosmetics. the only successful scenario markers i have seen cost a small fortune because they are purpose built for scenario specific purposes (i.e. tiberius arms and bob long m-tac)

For £250 you can pick up a cracking gun which would destroy scenario markers because they are:

lighter
faster
easier to maintain

like pippop suggested, invert minis, earlier dye DM's, and planet eclipse guns (i'd aim more for etek's, the earlier ego series in this budget had some kinks, but thats just my opinion/experience) are all top notch guns for starting out. also have a look at dye's other range from proto, who make the slg which is also known to be a great starter gun, but not personally a fan of them so i would sooner recommend planet.

however make sure you put a good loader into your budget as with tourney markers you will need something decent to feed them. cant recommend the invert halo too enough for a good working budget loader, although its definately worth the money upgrading to an empire prophecy or dye rotor.

finally dont bother with the 3000psi tanks. the shape/size of them isnt as comfortable, the cheap steel tanks are far heavier and ultimately you get less shots out of it. just go straight to a carbon wrap 68ci 4500psi tank, you will save yourself time and money by getting one from the start than wasting money on a 3000 then upgrading.
