How do I restore/repair nicks and scuffs in annodising

Sorry if this has been covered before, but if your marker is beat up and scuffed to hell, is there a way of repairing or polishing it back up to nearly new without having a brand new anno job. You can repair scratches and scuff on a cars paint job, what about a gun?

i'm in agreement with this, my beloved etek has a fair amount of "character" in need of removal

although i do not think there is any solution. never tried but i'd imagine companies will still charge for annodising repairs, although probably not as much

I'm looking at some kind of polish solution, not an anno repair. If I went for repair I would be tempted to have a brand new colour. Going back to the car example, with scratches, you pick the closest colour and rub special polish in to mask it.

Only after a very long time. (like about an hour of rubbing)

But it's only good for polished surfaces. Never tried it on dust. My gut says that would be a bad idea.
