I'm only on video nine but I couldn't help notice Robbo's expression when Marcus said he'd put the Preds back together if he had a magic wand in which to do it. Did you get a flash of ambition there Robbo?
Hmmm, I think because his fate in paintball was so entangled with mine, I kinda believed I could predict most of his responses .. except that one.
As soon as he mentioned about having that magic wand to put the Preds back again, my competitive instinct kinda kicked back in and I thought, 'Fuhk, if you are gonna come back and pick up a marker with the Preds then you ain't doing it without me' .......hence my expression.
As soon as he mentioned about doing an unlicensed boxing bout in the interview, I kinda wanted to go along and jump back in the ring with him.
Mind you, I think with him being ten years my junior, I might well get my ass kicked but even so, I would still enjoy it.
I did suggest to him he come down my gym and do some cage fighting but he doesn't much like the idea of people taking him to the floor and manipulating his elbow up his ass and so I might do one bout with him in the ring and one in the cage to redress the balance ... come to think of it, how's about I grow up and put me feet up by the fire and go for the quiet life?
Nah, fuhk it ...... come on Marc, let's teach these upstarts what competition is really about and get our teams back together
I have to say, Marc gave our sport so much in terms of world respect, he was a giant of a character and I am proud to say he was in my peer group, sat right at the top .. the guv'nor !!
And you have no idea how hard it would have been for me to acknowledge that back in the day. I have no problem in telling everybody now, none at all .... he was the consummate pro, a true leader of men and an inspiration to all who met and contested with him.
I wish our present game had him still playing now.
If somebody sponsored him with enough money, he would come back and he would dominate ... it's just in his nature ... he can do nothing but strive for the top and it was that way of thinking I wanted our members to witness and hopefully emulate.
