if you are playing at normal sites on normal days make sure they'll let you use you're own stuff, most sites that will won't like it if you turn up and starts shooting 25 bps, also it'll cost you a fortune in paint (they won't let you use your own on a normal day).

If you are playing walk-ons start off with something second-hand like an A5 (advantage is it has a built in hopper) if you like the milsim route or a £100 - £200 secondhand electro off here if that's more your style is probably a good way to start, something like the H18 you'll be changing after a couple of walkon's if you enjoy it and if you don't enjoy then you've wasted your money. If you buy a secondhand £150 electro you'd be able to get most of your cash back if you didn't like it by selling it on.

in all honesty i would avoid the mechanical markers like the one you posted up. even when people say they are suitable for woodsball, a decent gun designed for supair (like eclipse guns mentioned) are superior to all the "woodsball guns". cannot reccommend enough going with the etek range to start off, second hand this is the best your money will get you. and also when it comes to gloves, these armoured ones are good for selling to punters to stop them being scared about sore fingers, but in reality we want something nice and soft to encourage bounces so go for material gloves as opposed to these.

finally i think you got the message but forget about buying paint just now, much less these non-branded ones as it will be the worst paint money can buy and will just make a mess of the internals of your gun, plus you probably won't be able to hit anything anyway :)

in this order i would reccommend getting: mask, trousers, pack, hopper, marker, tank, pads, everything else
decide yourself how much you value your joints and make pads more of a priority but that should be a good start anyways

I just wanted to say thanks a lot everyone for helping me out so much. I plan to go here and I live in Preston, so if you know any good places round me that aren't that far away, please could you let me know. Thanks ;)

do you own your own car and have good mobility, if not would you be willing to travel?

From the looks of it I'm guessing that you want to stick to the woods for the time being :) have fun!

Looks like the Go Ballistic site is rental only

If so I assume they won't let you play with your own kit (gun) like regular walk-on venues

Probably best go to a more walk on friendly sit, as Go Ballistic may still charge you £7 for 100 paintballs.

What sort of a budget are you on to buy your kit?
