Marker Help

Hi guys,

Been playin punter day paintball for awhile with a Piranha gti but looking to move onto an electric hopper so I can get more involved in the game.

I've narrowed it down to two guns as follows:

ETEK 3 AM vs EGO9

and would like some advise on which one to go for and why.

any feedback is welcome

an ETEK is essentially a budget version of an Ego.

the "AM" in the ETEK's name refers to its all metal construction.

Both are good markers but the Ego'09 will be more expensive. If you have set yourself a budget then go with the ETEK (i'm assuming that you still have yet to obtain a bottle and hopper too) otherwise if money is not a problem, splash out for the Ego.

As your moving up from a piranha GTI then I recommend the Etek 3
It isn't ridiculously priced, will get you prepared for using something as good as an ego and it will definitely be a good backup gun if/when you decide to go for an EGO

Thing is I've seen second hand Ego9's going for the same price as New ETEK3's

I have a Air Tank and a Dye Rotor atm but what I don't wanna do is buy a ETEK 3 if I would notice a big difference (at my level) between it and the EGO9.

What do you think?

Buy the 09 it is the better gun, and as you have said you have seen a few go for the same money. But I doubt you would notice much difference between the two. Go for what you want

You really are diving into the deep end for a new player, an ego9 is a lot of money to spend on your first real marker, best off going with something like an etek, proto slg or the kind, just incase you dont want to continue playing, dont have time or dont have the money (happens a lot in paintball). But if you got the money then by all means go for whatever you want

Cheers for the advice guys, Think I'm just gonna go for a New ETEK 3 and see how it goes then if paintballing takes off for me then look into the higher end EGO's.

TBH, I'd seriously suggest going secondhand. If you buy new, you will lose a big chunk of money if you don't get into the sport, whereas a SH marker can be sold on for pretty close to what you paid for it

£200 and under will buy you and invert mini, Etek 1 or 2, Ego 5 or 6, DM7 or eaqrlier, Proto Markers and lots more, all of which are excellent.

If you haven't already, budget £50-80 for an air tank, and £40-80 for a good hopper...
