I've done a quick search, so sorry if this has come up before. I want to buy a new bottle for my marker. I'll only be using it for walkon's so fills on sites vary, some say they can only do 3000 fills others say they can do up to 4500. So my question is what bottle gives me the best coverage of site fills.

Logic says that I can't go to a 4500psi site with a 3000psi bottle as it's not made to stand that amount of pressure. But could I do the reverse and use a 4500psi bottle but only get a 3000psi fill which is well within the pressure of the bottle?

You can fill a 3000psi bottle using a fill station that does 4500psi fills... Just fill the bottle to 3000psi :)

If your just using for walk-ons may aswell just stick with a 3000psi bottle, as the games generally arn't long enough that your gunna use all your air anyway, the 3000psi bottles are generally smaller and lighter.

But yeah, you can use a 4500psi bottle, and only fill it to 3000psi. It works either way, you can use a 5000psi fill station and fill all 3 of the bottles. You can use a 3000psi fill station and still fill all 3 of the bottle sizes :)

Hope that made sense, it does to me... But that doesn't mean it will do anyone else :p

I hate being the bringer of doom, but.......

DO NOT FILL A 3000PSI BOTTLE ON A 4500PSI FILL RIG

Not everyone has your experience with filling bottles.

For walkons and for your pocket an aluminium 3000psi cylinder is the most cost effective.

A 4500psi fibre cylinder will set you back about £150, and need testing every 5 years. You are looking at a least £200 for 15 years life. (Based on a £25 test with no postage costs)

An aluminium tested for the same time would cost under £100 and still have a potential unlimited life, a new cylinder every 5 years would work out at £120 for 15 years.

Most sites will have 3000 fills available, even if they advertise fills up to 4500. But of course only fill from a rig regulated at 3000psi max.

You can fill from something with a 4500 source provided that the fill rig is restricted to 3000, but never rely on your ability to stop by yourself to a rig rated at 4500 or 5000.
