My new air tank query

My mum went to america last week and bought me an air tank back from ANS Extreme.

They took the valve off the top of the tank so it would be safe to fly (apparently) and suggested i get it put back on by a professional.

Is there anywhere in kent that could do this for me? and is it safe if i just screw it on really tight myself?

You can't use american air tanks in the UK as they use a diffrent system to ours. If it has not got PI on it, it'll be hard to have servce done to it.

The systems the same but the testing spec is different.

uk = pi
us = DOT

You may be in luck and have a tri tested bottle which means you can use it in the UK and US.
Can you take another picture, this time of the spec and test dates.

the details go all the way round the tank so it will be easier to type them:

it is a DOT system, test date is 05/09 and its a 5 year tank

Looks like you wont be able to use it in the UK as its a DOT tested bottle, nor will you be able to sell it on here.

I dont think you can get DOT bottles tested in the UK thus making them PI rated, but i may be wrong.

I have PMed Lump and contacted Crossfire, teh manufacturers as well as the store that sold it too me. Am awaiting reply from them...

you should have bought a marker there instead :d theyre cheaper than they are here

I would post it back to the shop for a refund - zero chance of using it in the UK or Europe

i did check, i asked them if it was useable here and they said yes.

and they also knew it was coming here when i bought it instore...
