Someone did have advanced warning that Japan was going to attack Pearl harbour, but it wasn't the Americans.
The British Intelligence services found out about the planned Japanese attack about a week before hand, but when the info was passed to Churchill, he decided to say nothing. Why? Because he wanted the US to get off the fence and join in WW2.
It may have been quite interesting if Churchill had said something, as at the time the Japanese Navy actually outclassed the US pacific fleet by a fair bit, but no one knew it yet.

The thing I find incredulous about questions such as this thread-opener is just how scarce commonsense is when asking them.
There could of course be a degree of naivety going on here, that being the people who ask these questions are too young to know any better but I'm assuming, rightly or wrongly, we are, or all try to be, adults on this site.
Normally I would tend to connect a lack of commonsense with a yearning need for a few more points on the IQ scale, that being, the people who question the notion the culprits were terrorists in favour of a government conspiracy are just plain stupid.
I mean, it's not a bad premise because I have seen many of these type conspirators being quizzed on TV and it is blatantly obvious they would have some difficulty in compiling their three times table without judicious use of their fingers or spelling 'cat' and 'dog' without mouthing the words ..... but ......there was some research being done that looked at the psychological profile of some of these career type conspirators and whist a fair few of them fitted the intelligence bracket I just described, it was noted that there were significant numbers who were for all intents and purposes, not stupid, far from it in fact.
This obviously beggars the question, so why do these 'people' act so stupid in spouting this scrotum load of bollocks such as the US Government were behind or were previously aware of 9/11?
The answer seemed to lie not with their ability to reason [as one would think] but for these people, it was fulfilling an emotional need borne out of some psychological disorder.
These people apparently needed something to believe in that set them apart from others and in so doing, it kinda made these people feel important because they most certainly attracted attention.
Problem is, whilst the vast majority of people who had a semi-functioning brain would view that attention as somewhat embarrassing, the conspirators believed it was something that could defined them, something positive in their lives.
And so, an emotional disorder inexorably leads these idiots to indulge themselves in an intellectual short-circuit thus resulting in them making a complete Scrote-bag of themselves ..... but to try and convince them otherwise isn't just a rational debate [that's why you can rarely win with these types] it's an emotional and psychological repair job, and it's a job that most people aren't qualified to do or indeed could be arsed to do ..... coz at the very least, it's nice we can kick back, crack open a beer and just smile at them as they go about their business.

It always amazes me that anyone could actually believe the US government had anything to do with 9/11.. I'm sure the parents, children and friends of any of the thousands of innocent people who were murdered whilst sat at their desks love reading/listening to this crap..
The common theme with all these conspiracy theories is that the government is, to a man, incredibly competent at executing their dastardly plans.
I can see the attraction for a teenager, who gets their ideas from american shows like CSI or 24.
But adults know in real life Govenrments cant even do the simplest most mundane things without cocking them up.

We are only human driven to our own imperfections and greed. Men, company’s, governments will kill over oil and any resource out there on this world. The american government relies on patriotism to put forth any aggressive action on this planet, and the only way to do that is to enforce an action upon the american people which will then enslave the american population to follow and believe what the government tells them. Patriotic Orgy, if your not one, your a terrorist.
End of the day, its either heads or tail. What side of the coin you believe in, i can sit hear and argue the point, while someone sits on the other side and argue his point. It goes nowhere , and will end up nowhere.
Remember though, nothing is truth. Everything we know, everything we do, is based upon someone else’s version of events and there version of truth, so there for everything is socially constructed and open to individual interpretation which in end, will have a different version of the truth then the next guy.
Believe what you want to believe , but never say 'never' , human life is worth nothing compared to money.
Cowface, I'm afraid all the time you hold views such as you do, you will be correct in assuming debates such as this get nowhere ... the reason?
.....because you seem to have pre-fixed ideas not based upon rationale or facts but upon emotions and prejudices ... the question for you to answer is not in trying to answer ridiculous suggestions as this 9/11 conspiracy theory but to look into yourself and to try and fathom why you hold the views you do, and of course the reasons why you do.
