Hey guys, I've seen a few listings sporadically mentioned on a few forums, but is there a convenient place to find walk on sites.

I'm hoping to play this Sunday 15th Aug but would be useful for future reference also.

In terms of area I can travel but ideally South West of England.

As an aside me and a friend are new to the sport and wondered what the best tournaments were for newbies? Should we also join a team or can we go into with just the two of us. We don't mind diving in at the deep end.

Usually a walk on day is for people with their own gear and paint where you generally pay the site walk on fee and off you go.

Some sites will hire you the equipment on the day and sell you paint and air refills if you dont have your own gear, for an extra hire fee ofcourse.

Equipment is not a problem. I've just bought a shed load of gear for me and a pal.

Now we just need somewhere to shoot. Might go to the Big Game and Mayhem. Any ideas on the appropriate level.

How do Walk Ons usually work (as in what format does it adopt). Everyone goes and does what they like? Organised matches etc?

Most walk on days play the same as games as rental days, except all the players use their own kit (the sites will not mix rental and walk on player normally).

The games will also last a little longer (i.e.15 mins rather than 10 mins per game), but will still be variations of the capture the flag/objects theme (though there may the odd different type of game). Some places use the same fields for walk on days as rentals, while others will have special fields for walk on players.
