Air weapon age limits
Paintball isn't classed as an air weapon, so would the same rules apply?

What makes paintball law confusing is that there is no law and no precedent for paintball to follow. Theres a bit on air weapons and airsoft but unless someone sets down specifically the rules for us to follow, it can be difficult to interpret what parliament would intend.

Paintball is largely overlooked. Lets hope it stays that way.

as for shooting in the back garden its not just the neighbors you need to worry about - say your practicing breakout and running and trip pulling the trigger letting of a volley over the fence into public space if u hit anyone - NOT good,
also most members of the public wouldnt know a firearm from a toy (let alone a paintball gun) so if someone sees you with a gun they could call plod,
and if your parents aint home your going to have fun trying to convince them you arent on your way out of the garden to shoot up the streets
unless youve just done maintenance and need to test id say dont fire in the garden

The paintball industry uses the Air Weapons section of the firearms act to regulate the sport.
So what that means then is that paintball hasn't been legally classed, it's all self regulation. Still, if paintball ever went to court I doubt they (the courts) would view a paintball gun as anything less than an air weapon.
