Good luck with this, but I would like to give you the following which has the potential of increasing the amount you raise:
Thank you for your recent e-mail.
HMRC have some strict guidelines surrounding the claiming of Gift Aid.
If payment is made in exchange for something (even raffle tickets) they are excluded from the Gift Aid system.
However, if it clearly states that the ticket prices are such and say for example £1 is to be made as a donation to Help for Heroes, the £1 then becomes eligible under the Gift Aid scheme. We would need the donor's name, address, a date and the amount donated.
It will also need a brief detail of the Gift Aid declaration.
Such as, I am a UK Taxpayer and pay an amount of Income/Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that Help for Heroes reclaims on the donation (currently 25p for each £1 given)..
Anything over and above the cost of the entry ticket can be treated under the Gift Aid process.
Please feel free to e-mail if I can help further.
Kindest regards

Depending on the wording of your advertisements & tickets etc HMRC will count the ticket price as either a charity event you are running that is donating to H4H, or individual donations. Anything specificaly raised against the raffle cannot be put against GiftAid. e.g. if you sell raffle tickets that part cannot be suplemented by tax, but an entry donation can.
If worded correctly so that the money is shown as individual donations it becomes eligible for GiftAid. All you need do is check the wording and get taxpayers to complete declaration forms. Then H4H can claim £2.50 extra for each valid declaration.
