I was just going off the recommendations from CP.

Quote (of the reg packet) : "To prevent serious injury or potential death, this CP Air Regulator MUST be securely threaded onto the bottle and locked into place using LOCTITE® 242 (Part no. 24231)."

From the UKPSF website: "CPSC also recommends that people make sure that any modifications to the paintball gun or the CO2 [or air] canister are done properly. For example, installing anti-siphon tubes involves removing and re- installing the canister valve. It is critical that the valve be re- installed with the appropriate adhesive and the proper torque."

So you make your own mind up :).

And its unnecessary. Regs wont easily open if there is pressure inside the bottle.
VERY WRONG!!! Have you not been reading the 'torpedo' reports?

Thib - rather a dead air bottle than a dead person!

EDIT: Looks like 243 is the new 242.

EDIT: EDIT : And it's now blue (but in a red bottle) ;)

Air systems in current use should have a tapered thread to allow the air to vent safely (See at about 12 minutes of the following video)

By default the regulator ought to be loctited in place, but if going by air you need to be able to open the bottle.

However - don't mess about as an indiviudal, save this for the people who know what they are doing
