Hey guys,

Looking at getting into Paintball Photography.

Not planning on spending anywhere near a grand on a camera to find out i don't like it..

But I am looking for a Good Quality SLR/D-SLR camera. With/ or with extra's don't really matter.

Got money ready and waiting...

Post up what you got :D

Let me know,
Phil.

Try the Nikon D3000. Their latest Budget DLSR camera. Can pick it up from PC world for like £349. :)

Does the D3000 have live view?? I have an a330 and got the sony because of its great liveview.

Alot of games the gamezone is open and a mask required, so cant get the optics to your eye.

Something to consider.

Live View???
I don't know any Paintball Photographers who use Live View, may be wrong but I know that I have never even turned it on since the day I bought my 450D.

Nikon D3000 does not have live view no. You really want to use your view finder to get those nice accurate shots. Point and shoot using the LDC screen on a Paintball field seems rather amateurish. If you wanted to do that you could just go for a standard compact camera... But I cant talk, I'm not a photographer haha. But I would recommend the D3000, It's like 10.7 MP and its got like 11-point autofocusing, continuous shooting, and a really user friend guide ;)

Or... Go on Ebay and search for the Nikon D40. Older than the D3000, and only 6MP. But you could pick one up now dead cheap.

Trying to get a decent view from a viewfinder with your goggles on is rather tricky!!!! Using a screen for those times may be amateurish but its better than not seing what your shooting at.

Dont get me wrong the D3000 is a great camera and I would not belittle it, its just maybe more suitable cameras out there. :p

I have got some good macro shots using the screen when the camera has been on the ground (tilting lcd screen), so it can be used to an extent. :)

Perhaps one of the actual pb photography dudes could advise you a little better (if your not stealing the business of course)

Well yeah I agree with you 100% on that one. It can be quite hard looking through the viewfinder while wearing a mask, so you would think using the live view would be an easier alternative option, which in your case it is.

and I'm sure you have pulled off some cracking macro shoots using live view.

Like I say mate. I'm not a Photographer, apologies for any advice that may have been slightly inaccurate

I hope you find the camera your looking for :)
