Pics of inside of the asa and the bottle reg would really really help.
Is it bottoming out on the asa?? Check inside the asa and see if someone left in an oring or perhaps something else that shouldnt be there.
Did u change the tank reg oring? if so did u use the correct oring, thinckness could be causing tightness.

What Gun are you using ??
You would just unscrew the ASA and adjust it so you can screw the bottle all the way in without the reg of your bottle hitting your frame

Those dye ASAs are often like that.
They are not made to very good tolerances.
What I did when I had one of those I opened it out with an OLD air reg and some lapping compound.
I dont suggest you do the same just get a better ASA.
So you left the guy bad feedback for no reason.
