Over Boring

Suck it and see!

There is not much in the way of paint that won't leave the business end of a .696 lucky bore intact imho, less efficiency and accuracy are the prices you pay, if you have perfect paint and a bore to suit then you may notice an improvement in both.

Boes the NT not have an insert system that effects the efficiency in lieu of an LPR?

Should i Over Bore or not? if i do! does it not waste air and have less efficiency?

Thanks guys!
Yes, yes and yes. But the efficiency and waste of air is minimal. Seriously, like maybe 50 balls max. A decent 1L 4500 on any gun can afford a slight decrease in shots held over one game.

Does it effect accuracy? Nope. YOU effect accuracy. This comes with practice. Hand eye co-ordination is key, and believe it or not, playing on your xbox will probably help :)

I use 693 permanently, as Id rather not have barrel breaks. I hear players all the time saying "oh I just shoot through it" but even with a squeegee it never shoots the same for the rest of the game.

Idealy you should either underbore or overbore by 0.002"-0.004".

Bore matching leads to consistency problems since the paint we get nowadays is so variable.

Underboring will get better efficiency.

Underboring by more than 0.006" can led to a reduction in accuracy and barrel breaks.

Overboring does waste air, but if you have free air at your site, that isn't a major concern. If you overbore by more than 0.006", you might struggle to reach 300fps.

Just don't do what I did and spend a small fortune on every possible eventuality.

This is what I was alluding to in my earlier post and it makes a lot of sense.
By matching your paint to your barrel you give larger and smaller balls a greater capacity to make a difference.
If your barrel matches the median ball in the box then thats going to translate into the largest variance on the chrono. Because half the balls will be a shade too big and half will be too small.

Its not even like paint nowadays is less concistent than it used to be. This must have always been the case.

Im one of these naive dreamers. I beleive that paintball companies should do these kinds of tests rather than letting the users figure it out.

:)As a team we always barrel match paint and sometimes during the day if we have a big change in temp during the day. (paint can change size during the day increasing muzzle velocitys!)

I personally use a tight bore on my Geo (so you can just about blow it out with your mouth) and I have found it improves its accuracy, efficiency and shot to shot consistancy. I also have no probs with breaks.

However this is as long as your using good quality paint. If your using cheaper training paint (which by default is normally a more inconsistant size) I would use a larger bore and put up with a slight lack of Accuracy and efficiency in order to combat the higher chances of barrel breaks.

And ref your small freak incert if paint keeps on reducing in size at the rate some companys are changing it, it may come in usefull pretty soon :)
