X-Ball Trials- Northern Results

I would just like to say a big thanks to all those who turned up yesterday to try out for places on the Brit team for the Diablo X-Ball finals to be held in Pittsburgh.
A special mention has to go to a few people, to Big Sid from Scotland who made the five and a half trip down south, played some brilliant ball and the only thing that kept him out was his size.
To Lee, who flew all the way from Guernsey and made the final ten on the day was another one who was edged out when it came down to it, on the size issue.
To Wendy from Stormbirds who has made me rethink what girls could do in paintball, she shot **** loads of geezers out all day long and never got flustered once.
I wanna say a big thanks to Ledzy, Beaker and Nicky Truter who without their help, this whole thing would not have come off.
But when it came down to it, we decided that only 6 players would be going on to the next round of qualification and they would be :-

Chris and Digger from Kelly's Heroes.
Bowen from Rushers.
Jack Woods from Banzais.
Junior from Tigers.
Stoney from JCS Imperial.

Now these guys ain't made it yet, they just got thru to the next round but I am pretty sure some of them will be going to Pittsburgh, so we are having the Southern trials on the 2nd June which has yet to be confirmed.
As soon as I have confirmed it, I will post it up here.
Also a big thanks to Nick from Skirmish for the use of his fantastic site and to Adrian Saunders and Jerry Ward-Barbour for the Diablo paint.

what's all this about size then? is it worth us 6 foot 4 ballers turning up to the southern trial, or will we be just be used as target practice for the midgets who finally make the team?

but seriously, congrats to those who made it in so far (and by the sounds of it, those who didn't) looks like it's gonna be hard work for us suvvern fairies to get a look in!

Hey Flash, it comes down to this, if I got two guys who play just as well as each other with nothing to split them, then if one is bigger than the other, the smaller one gets the vote for obvious reasons.
If you need convincing of this poilicy of selection, take a quick look toward JT Dynasty and all will be revealed.
As for the 'Suvvern' guys finding it hard to get in, I think you may have misunderstood something; there are only four guys who are actually in :-

Matty Schmidt
Jamie Abbott
Mark Toye
Nick Truter

Now, the six guys chosen at the Northern trials yesterday are merely thru to the next round, where, after the southern guys have been chosen, they will then face off to select the final six.
Ok, so four in, six to go, it's still wide open !!!

Hey J, the date has got to fit in with the following criteria, I can make it, Ledz and Beaker can make it and also Nicky Truter and Mark Toye.
The biggest consideration was that it should be held at the earliest possible because time is now really pressing.
June 2nd fulfilled most of these, so I'm sorry about this mate but it's just the way it turned out, sucks I know but it would be a lot easier for one person (you) to try and change their schedule than 5, if ya get my drift ?

Hey Pete I think that is a kewl way you guys have choosen to pick the Final 6 guys. Sucks you guys are holding the southern trials on the 2nd of June cause I am stuck here and wanted to come and show you what I got. Yeah Yeah I know I am not welcomed! To all the dudes, and dudettes that turned up for an awesome day's ballin'. It was super hard goin and the guys that made the cut fully deserved the spots as they tore fools up lefty AND righty. Bit of a learning experience, met some new chumps and pushed our game a bit further. Sweet.

Top notch play and it was cool to see Robbo's shooting skills. If you've seen Badlands 2000 video (I think) you'll see a slender Robbo shooting cans in the air and Paintballs too.....he can actually do this. And swear a lot.

Maybe see y'all in the southern leg.

Kick ass!

The standard certainly was exceptional, but all i have to say is wait until you see Wayne and Lee from Kellys Heros play on June 2nd!

The South may have won the Big game at the weekend, but there's an awful lot to play for on June 2nd! Don't miss the chance of a lifetime to get a spot on the x-ball team. Even if you don't get selected you're gonna have one of the best days paintball ever!
