I like the idea! I certianly think it'll make the game more accessible to teams that don't have large amounts of sponsorship.

The question is will a tourney promoter pick up the new rules and give it a go?

I think it would be great if a UK tournament promoter would give it a whirl. If only for a one off with say ten teams to see how it went :)

My team would definately be up for it!

Let hope the new rules will catch on with the masses, I think that tourney ball will need something like this format to truely appeal to the non-paintball community.

I still don't like the idea of a branded format. I feel like accepting a branded format is like handing over ownership of the sport to someone.

Having said that i do feel that a multi-game, match-based format could be the right direction, so long as it is sustainable in terms of cost, time-commitment and universal acceptance.

A more accessable version of the format, like xball lite (why can't marketing people spell  ), would be an important part of achieving this.

trouble is guys if you dont have a series to train and play for you will not enjoy the format as much! cos no matter how much you think you can play XBall, until you have bashed heads with a team or teams that have actually done nothing other than XBall you will just default to a slightly more agressive version of 7man - which aint Xball

would be good if someone in Europe actually created an XBall style format series, with 'lite' versions for less sponsored teams, but i feel it needs to be at least 4 events, and it needs good prize money to entice teams to part with the extra training money with the aim of collecting a cheque!

Totally agree with your sentiments there. I feel that the sooner that we get started with an Xball variant series in the UK, the sooner our playing standard, generally, is likely to increase. It will only evolve our playing styles IMHO

The far greater actual playing time that is part and parcel of the x-ball format would be a welcome change to the usual UK team schedule of one or two trains and one 7man tournament a month. Total game playing time there is perhaps two hours at best. It just isn't enough.
