One of the organisers accidently broke the x ball scoreboard. Division 1 teams are considering between three options:

1. Get some refund and play without official scoreboard.

2. Dont play div.1 at Paris

3. Give up Millenium div.1 x-ball

Surely there MUST be contingency plans in place for this type of thing?

Is it that hard to have someone announce the scores from the tower over the PA system? You know, like tennis style? And a couple of people could be pulled in to count down any penalties?

tsk.

Curiously the PSP's Xball had some problems in Orlando too with scoreboards as they went down with some regularity, including the NXL scoreboard. Part of the problems were weather related--heavy rains--while some were goofy things like bad batteries.
As this is written I've no idea how the Orlando event has turned out with matches getting backed up and running up to two plus hours behind on Saturday.
Guess we'll find out tomorrow. :)

As far as I know, Open X-Ball went ahead - some teams were made to play extremely early on the Saturday and late into the night (we saw Powertrip wandering back to our hotel at about 9pm) so by Sunday, all the games had caught up.

Div 1 Xball was a bad!

It was the red headed stepchild of the EXL and it was handled as such. No scoreboard and it was tucked away behind the EXL field.

:(

Amen.

I am very glad that the teams stuck together though, and worked something through that everyone could play.

I hope the Millennium realises that teams can be a stronger voice when they are all saying the same thing, and after this weekend, they certainly are.

....however let us be nice boyoz and draw the conclusions after the season. One thing is for sure given the very unfortunate circumstances the Mill crew did the best work they could!!

p.s: Does anyone know what happened with the german teams?

Did they annexe tha Sudetenland?

:p

(And just to pre-empt any charges of anti-Germanic behaviour, may I add that tha Italian teams ran away, tha French teams surrendered, tha Americans turned up late, tha Brits had terrible teeth, the Dutch teams were all stoned and tha Danes, er, nobody cares what they did...)
