The thread that came from was eventually answered by the maker who said he did it for **** and giggles and he has never gassed it up as he believes that he had taken too much metal away to be safe and still use. On a sad side note the maker has had some legal problems and all the work he did has been confiscated by the police...though at least one of the cockers he worked on was not at his home when everything was seized.

Any idea what the legal problems were?
probably for having to much time on his hands.

seriously though what was the legal reason guys surely it cant be related to the modding of a gun, more likely something personal, and what did the police do with them exactly or has some doughnut munching dibble got a funky fireplace display?

[edit] thx for link mark, i wonder whether he got them back though.

By German law you can't mod a "gun" and a marker is considered a gun.......... so he broke a few laws and has his stuff confiscated.
You can't blame the German authorities for tightly controlling firearms. They still feel bad for last time :)

read some of the other posts......."send it out bit by bit, I did that with a real gun" ............. makes you wonder really. And anyway, the original problem was caused when a customs officer at an airport read "caution, may explode" on a battery pack........ so understandable really.

And why mod a marker till it can't be fired? surely that is by definition "taking it too far" the modding ceases to mean anything as it may as well have been scratch built from aluminium block.

yes i agree that its understandable and conforming to german law the confiscation was in accordance to it,i agree with you there.

but i disagree with the sentiment of the moding. from his and other peoples descriptions/opinions what he was doing was for an artistic purpose and not that of a practical one, an opinion i share. i recall he even admits that he didnt have a working paintball gun on premesis, so its safe to assume that his modding wasnt to produce a working cocker but instead one made for visual purposes.

so why mod till it cant be fired? well i suppose this is what floats his boat.
