Wrong lubercant

never use oil other than official paintball lube. I used rem gun oil and totally ruined all my o-rings. Now I use JAVA marker lube.
luckily the guy at the shop replaced the rings for free.

It hasn't got to be "Official" paintball lube, but if your not sure its a safe bet.

The problem with most oils (i.e. 3 in 1, WD40 etc.) is that they are petroleum based and eat rubber, i.e. o rings. Anything silicon based is fine.

The oil used for air tools (nail guns, etc...) can be used in certain markers.

3-1 oil is fine to use in markers.

You'd be miles ahead to just buy yourself some just-for-paintball lube so you don't ever have to worry about screwing up your marker (and if anything goes wrong, the marker manufacturer can't tell you it's not under warranty because you used improper lube). ACI sells a bottle that should last you about a year for like 5 bucks, it's worth it for the peace of mind.
