World Governing Body for Paintball?

Hotpoint

Paintball has not got an International Governing Body and many people seem to think it should.

The idea was tabled a while ago with some discussion of setting up an organisation to be called the IPSA (International Paintball Sports Association) but this apparently fell by the wayside.

Any opinions? (I'm sure there are)

Hi Hotpoint,
You said that this was tabled some time ago. Who tabled it and what was suggested?

To have such an organization, we would need to have all the represented countries organizations to agree. As we in the UK can’t organize an AGM on the UKPSF, how the hell are we going to organize IPSA?

Before we go sorting out other peoples problems, we need to sort out our own!!

Like have said before, we as paintballer’s need to start helping Bully raise the profile of the UKPSF.

I look forward to your views on this matter.

IPSA was an idea being knocked around by various officials from a few Governing Bodies a couple of years back (before Bully drafted me onto the UKPSF). It never really seemed to get anywhere but as to why I dunno... actually I was hoping somebody on the forum could maybe shed some light

Strangely enough it would probably be a lot easier to set up an International Body than a smoothly running national one. At a basic level all that's needed is for each countries body to agree to do so.

We could always argue the details out afterwards but a Governing Council made up of Representatives of affiliated nations would be a good start with maybe a figurehead President

It wouldn't be FIFA but it would be a start

Once again I ask... anybody got any opinions?
