Irritating or not, the bottom line is safety amongst other reasons.

Its only irritating when the marshall gets shot in the hand, and funny as hell watching him jump up and down doing a rain dance

not a perfect system

Although the concept is valid, and something I approve of....

It seems that there is a bit of difference in the handheld versus the chrono station. I had to try this myself to believe, but I found that the two chrono's could be off by a considerable amount.
