Hey all,

Some of us have never been to world cup before, and just really intrested in things like,

Good times to book flights?

How much money should you be looking to take?

Rough costs for flights,

Timespan's

I dont a search but could not find anything on the World Cup basically.

Anyone care to explain and so on.

Book flights as early as you can, apparently there is an offer with AA valid until tomorrow, but use a good screen scraper (netflights etc.) and then go through the airline websites for a decent price, for me its more about minimising layovers than the amount of time in the air, I hate sitting about in airports!

Sort your baggage out, airlines are getting tighter and tighter with their allowances, if you think you're coming back loaded with goodies have another think or be prepared to pay for extra baggage.

Sort your transport out, you will need at least one hire car/minivan/bus, especially if there are a few of you and you want to do different things away from the paintball

Accommodation is stupidly cheap, book a villa and it shouldn't cost you much more than £100 each for the trip.

I tend to fly the weekend before, spend a day acclimatising, then hit the shops, training sites, bars etc, leave Wednesday am free for registration on site, book a grandstand ticket for the finals at least, and fly out on the Monday, or Tuesday if you can afford the time.

Flights can be had for as little as £350, if you're prepared to look and be flexible on departure/arrival airports, times etc. If it all goes tits up then the airlines will do there best to rebook you on the next available flights.

Remember you will have a paint bill to pay, and you'll have to barter with the paint vendors, making friends with some US teams may help as you might be able to go in on any deals they get.

Eating out etc. is pretty cheap and there are supermarkets etc. everywhere if you want to self cater, many people don't even bother putting more than a few drinks in the fridge.

There are plenty of bargains to be had in the shopping centres both in Orlando and Tampa, and plenty of tourist traps too!

Minimum Drinking age is 21 and strictly adhered to, NO ID NO DRINK! Even I've been ID'd occasionally and I'm pretty ancient. The best Gentlemen's entertainment is found in Tampa, just up the road from the Raymond James Stadium, a former NPPL venue, certainly not around the family friendly Disneyfied Kissimmee, though Sun In The Beach in Old Town is till the place to be on Sunday night.

If you want to hit the parks etc. plan in advance and get tickets rather than just rocking up and paying full price on the door!

Don't get eaten by any alligators ;)

Excellent. Absolutely agree with everything. Do not under estimate how regularly they ID, if you look less than about 30 you will be IDed and some places I have been what seems like a blanket policy of ID everyone.

Massive variety of places with things to do in evening, for any thing popular pre book.

One point I'd like to add, take your frikkin id to registration or you won't be issued with your pass (unless you're me ;) but then Keely always loved me ) How do they know that just because you match the picture you posted on the internet that you aren't sandbagging under an assumed name, this applies to pit crew too. NO ID NO PASS! Twizz will vouch for this one.

One thing to add, maybe not completely relevant for the OP, but very important if you think of just going to WC to hang out...

Don't forget to bring a crew or hook up with one. Trust me, there's nothing worse than ending up in a hotel room in the evening with nothing to do.
