Just asking I suppose you could call me a newbie having started again after 7 years and not getting the whole speedball air millinum field stuff and walkon days are a not fun unless you have a electric 300-600 quid gun!!!!. but i love playing woodsball. Trouble is the price of playing every weekend with the punters at my "local field" and the price tag of coughing up 40-50quid a day to shoot off 500-700 rounds is too expensive to keep it up reqular........ as needed in any sport. A box of ammo 2000 is 40 quid, with me, that would last a month and all that is needed is some field with trees and some like minded responsible individuals. Do private fields exist and how do i join them? Any commerical field is out to make some big cash off the occasion stag do etc but what about the person who wants to play regularily without going ape! and has all their own kit mask, cheap marker etc. I find the more you play Woodsball the more accurate you shots and less ammo gets fired to get a kill hence usage of paint drops?     And before any speedballers start on me how did paintball start? ans a few like minded people playin in the woods.

local paintball fields

yeah i have asked, they are very anti that idea, They cater for the speedball tounament style walk on days but thats once a month. My avg spend since i take it easy is 25 quid and use about 250 balls and get the same or more kills as everyone else. I got queried about why i only used a low amount of paint and they reccon i must be using off site paint. Hence why i an trying to find an alternative. One nice guy pm ed me and gave me website address but they are too far away. But at 20quid a go and you use your own gear and paint, I would definitly go there. As i am in the south west they are a bit far away 2hours away.. :p ;) My local site is a really good site for woodsball and millinum, but obviously the speedball freaks empty a case of paint each in a day and the site sells them the paint at shop prices makes money that way. but you are not allowed onto the  woodball site with the same arrangement. most of guys at speedball have 15balls/sec plus guns and done mind trying to pot a hopper or mask at 40 yards by shear vol of paint. I personally just dont get any enjoyment out of that at all.

my own stuff

i got my own gun tippmann 98 (not a fast gun but reliable). Walk on days are all about millinum air playing on inflatable bags. As mentioned above i dont like shooting a hopper of paint in the faint hope of hitting someones gun barrel or mask. unless your kind of walk on days are different?:D

I really dont want to say
Visit site
Walk ons are in the woods mate, and there is a sup air version of it. And why you keep bringing the millenium series into it I have no idea.As far as your needs go, you need not worry about the millenium, because I think you may be getting a little confused

£25 - 250 rounds !! Well i know we do walk on's and the cost is a lot less ! This sunday it is £10 a head byo or buy from £25 a box.
We do a members scheme for £35 / head inc 1000 rounds come when ever you want.

But to be honest no site is going to be interested in reducing the prices if you use 250 balls ! By any chance do you play music statues as well as paintball when at the site?

As for using woods if you own your own you still be to run it safely and to regulations if it can cause harm to other. Like stray balls, injury to wildlife etc.

Just going and playing in your local woods the police could do you for firearms offences.

local paintball fields

hi Shadlad,RainbowShooter , i based in bath -south west.

Firstly shadlad, You mentioned a scheme for £35 / head inc 1000 rounds thats a good deal by anyones standards. As to musical statues comment well,,, I compare my kill rate against others at the end of the day and its the same or more than someone who has fired 700 rounds. I am not an average punter who fires at any movement or target in the faint hope of hitting it. I have worked on site admittily 7 years ago and played a lot then. I know my markers effective range and alot of people dont. So they might as well be firing a whole bunch of wasted paint at nothing cause they aint going to get their target.

I dont use alot of paint so i can see why a site would rather have your stag punter blowing £50 once year. which is why i posted my orginal posting "Woodsball away from companies UK". Are there private fields out there? Operating on a none profit basis like a private club????

i am paying £25 nearly every weekend total spend £150plus for the last 3 months, my local site is better off with me playing there than me not being there than you once a year punter. Assuming i still keep that trend that is a sizable membership fee comparable to any golf club. It is with that in mind that i say that instead of paying a "profit" for the sport that I pay for the "cost" of the sport. how much is a paint ball these days 2p. I know about the argument for staff cost hire etc etc but in the good old usa there are huge club sites that run on a none profit basis.

As to the comment "Just going and playing in your local woods the police could do you for firearms offences." I am sure they could find some law or other to stop you doing just about anything if they wanted to. There are lots of kiddies hunting rabbits out there with air guns .177 or .22 that are far more dangerous than a paintball marker. Paintball started in the woods with individuals not companies. i have seen old style goggles with their lenses shot out because the technology then was not as good as it is now. Responsible individuals at the end of the day are needed for any sport from football to driving on the road. With a farmers permission a day in the woods on private land should be reasonably safe away from crowds or ramblers, unless there were trespasses (who would be breaking the law). :) ;)
