there seems to be a trend of sup-air teams setting up woodland teams,do we think this is a good way to bring new players into the sport and also give some players the option to play in the woods instead of sup-air if that,s wot suits them best?.will this also bring the two communities closer together and make the transion into sup-air easier for new players and alot less daunting to them by being able to play 5man woodland tournies like the genesis series,in an enviroment that they recognise from playing punter ball.if so is this a step in the right direction for uk-balling and can you see other teams doing the same thing.all opinions welcome especially from the wise ones i:e robbo:D

I think anything that encourages people to get playing more and taking up the sport in general is a step forward

I believe that once people start seeing walk-on days and woods ball tournaments will let them see that paintball is a bigger thing than something to do once a year for a mates stag do or birthday. And as you say once people start researching into these things they will find out that there is a 'sport' to get into

I think just having photos up across the safe areas and magazines to flick through in the base camp are a good idea though, I know that we used to have a tv playing paintball dvds up in the shop and nearly every time people came to buy more paint ect they always asked about it.

well we are a woodlands team and i have been playin for about 2 years now

i have been looking into the sup air side of the game and it is so appealing to have a go.

gonna try it in the new year and see how it goes

like you said though anything that gets people interested in the sport is a bonus

I think the days of Airball being classed as the only Tournie ball is limited and people are seeing that. Airball is enjoyed by some over woods and woods over air by others. The only problem is Tournie ball had dropped off from being played in the woods. Air is taken a lot more seriously by players and that is why some class it as a sport and woods as rec ball. But this is changing and the National Paintball Club this year will make sure woodball is back on the map and taken seriously.

But I do not think setting up a woodball team will mean they move onto Air. I just believe that some people like the game woodball.
