Playing paintball in strong winds is hard work.
Played in a local tourney yesterday The Propaintball cup by the time all the teams had arrived the marque had blown off the field and in to the trees bending all the poles the sup'air was flying with only a few pegs holding.
After pegging it all back down and using the sites punter safety area as the marque was irretrievable we got started, although one field was unusable as the wind had wrecked it and it would no longer blow up properly.
When the games started everyone wanted to play from the same side of the field as the wind was stopping your balls from going very far in one gust of wind i was nearly shot by one of my own balls coming back at me with the wind. It was funny though watching and playing trying to keep behind the barrracades and move with them as they blew around and when they unpegged and took off and the player is left standing there with no protection. They seem to pause as if to say what should i do before finally running for another barracade.
It was still a good day though just a bit annoying.
People say that wind is the only weather that can stop sup'air from being played, i don't think thats true it just makes it more interesting and challenging.
