William Hill Bookmakers backs Paintball Association Cup

(My apologies to the moderators for posting this in two forums...wasn't sure where it belonged exactly...here or tournament...I'm sure you'll sort it out :) )

William Hill have confirmed that they will opening a book on which team will win the paintball Association Cup being held at Witton Castle, Co. Durham on 16th & 17th of August 2003.

From the middle of next week you’ll be able to place a bet on which team you think will be the UK’s first National Champions at any William Hill Bookmakers office around the country or alternatively you can make a bet on-line through the Paintball Associations web site

Can people who are connected with the tourney- Marshals ect ect allowed to have a flutter.

Funnily enough we've just been talking about that actually...theoretically one could assume the worst and say there could be a bias for one team or another...but then you can say that of any sport.

Fortunately we have some of best referees in the country which is why they were picked...of course if we suddenly find that a team with odds of 10,000-1 has walked off with the title and two weeks after the tourney Russ has just bought his own island in the Caribbean then a few questions might be asked...naturally I would have to spend an extensive amount of time interviewing Russ on his island to investigate the matter...unless of course I buy my own island nearby and I just pop across in the ol' 'copter when I feel a need to interrogate him :D

Bother! Quite fancied a flutter on this myself, but as I've been roped in to help all weekend looks like that's out now:(

Does this include general helps for the tournament? i.e. helpers for setting up, and run arounds on the two days?

No...general dogsbodies...errr... I mean valued helpers, technical assistants, strategic support personnel and logistical control specialists such as your good self will be allowed to place bets...it's only tournament officials who can't...field refs, ultimates and P.A. committee reps...
