I know there is such a thing called depreciation that is messing up the second hand market out there, but some of the prices for hardly used 06 kit is ridiculous compared to what these people paid for it new. It really sucks if you have anything older than an 05 model. There's PM5's and ego 05's going for £350 odd pounds, 06 models going for under £500 and 04 models for around £200-£250. With these types of prices it's making other markers like e-cockers, mech cockers and older electro's, inc. e-trixes with upgraded eye's/dm3's, practically unsellable for any decent amount of money. I know it's a buyers market out there which is great if your looking to pick up a bargain, but if you have older kit and want to sell it to upgrade, you have next to no chance of getting a decent price for your current kit.
Is it going to get to a point where there is no point in selling these older markers, and just fork out for the bargain marker being sold and just end up having an extra spare kicking around? Will we end up each having 3 or more markers kicking around the place, while we only take 2 to training/tournies etc.?
I currently have an e-trix with NYX board and eye's and it's a funky one which I have heard rumours about it being owned by Richmond Italia himself (doubt it). I also have a built from scratch racegun cocker. I doubt I would be able to get more than £150 for either of these, thats if I was even able to find someone to buy them. Now I know if I did sell them I could buy something decent for £300, but the fact that if I did find someone to buy them all I could get is £150 each is just a disgrace.
Am I wrong on this one? are these guns which over the years have had a lot spent on them, first from new and then on upgrades, sold on etc. are they really worth so little nowadays? Or is it just people driving the price down by undercutting each other to get the sale, then buyers see this price and won't pay more than it for another gun the same?
Your thoughts please?
