Why Sunday?

Now that is a good question - LJ might get a thread onto the gold board yet.

So, tourney organisers - why Sundays?

Players - would you rather saturdays?

A number of reasons spring to mind here. Firstly more people work on a Saturday than a Sunday, so more chance of them being able to play. Secondly, If there's quite a distance to travel to an event with an early start (as just about all paintball events have) then it's easier to travel there on a Saturday afternoon than a Friday after work - driving home is less of a big deal as they tend to finish by 6.00pm even in summer giving a few more spare travelling hours. Thirdly, traditionally Saturdays are the day when people with families do stuff like shopping & children need to be taken to sports or hobby sessions, or the adults go to soccer matches, whereas Sundays tend not to have so many things happening.

Good Idea. First Sensible post L J

HMMM, well I too would prefer to play on a Saturday:

Less chance of bumping into Student Lamo's, as they should all be flipping Burgers at Ronald's.

Not having to explain to Saturdays nights conquest, why I've got to sling her out on her Jimmy Choo's at 0600 (well actually it's been known for me not to turn up for this very reason ;) ).

Not having to play with the after effects of the previous evenings Kirin Ichiban binge.

Not having to deal with Sunday evening drivers or the M1 at 6 p.m. on a Sunday night.

Not having to go into work for client meetings with what appears to be love bites, as they're always that bonus ball that gets in-between your jersey collar and neck guard.

Not having to spend all week-end thinking about meeting MrPink at 0600 on a Sunday Morning.

Not having to endue the quid pro quo of playing ball, by being dragged round Bluewater all day on Saturday if I'm balliing on a Sunday. I mean if we play on a Saturday, at least the shops are only open for 6 hours on a Sunday.

In fact I can't think of any good reasons for not moving tourneys to Saturdays.

Probably for selfish reasons I would prefer a Saturday :)

Would mean I'm not getting in at god knows what time on a Sunday night, wrecked after an early start and a long drive back home only to the prospect of having to be up again Monday morning at 7 o'clock.

But on the other hand I understand a lot of people work on a Saturday now and for them this would be impossible. I agree with what Liz says. But think now with the advent of Sunday opening hours that Saturdays and Sundays are pretty much the same both work and family wise now...

why the hell are basically all paintball events on sundays??? and why do teams train on sundays???? it makes it hard for me to do it cos trains are pretty rare on sunday:(
HAHAHA.
Seems that LJ wants to be at a certain site in Nottingham on Sunday morning.Hes tried every conceivable way to get his podgy arse up north, even into roping in Quacking Plums. And still the little bugger is stuck in Colchester.

I've told you the secret to your problem. Move to Norwich and get a Job there.:D

Keep Balling on Sundays I say otherwise I have to limit my drinking at the 'all you can drink for £15' nites a club holds near me on a Friday.:D :D

hmmm the last vestage of the Fat Mooter and Swamp Donkey, the all you can drink for 15 quid nights nice.

I s'pose that if you were actually serious about your balling you would infact go to bed early and limit the consumption of alcohol the night before. Maybe the real reason most UK teams play pussy or counterpunch paintball, they're all too hung over from last nights bearlaryness.
