With a strong Pro line up at HB and expectations running high with certain teams - who's gonna fall flat on their faces?

With the pressure of expectation it may be new teams such as Arsenal and XSV.

The Dogs are shooting new guns - will it affect their awesome record?

Or maybe Ton Ton who seem to start so strongly in other years?

What about the Legion? They are due a dog tourney surely?

Nexus have been training hard and will be keen to avoid last years result (this is the inspiration for this thread btw - I was there and it hurt) and are now fully equipped for the NPPL.

Whats your opinion?

Interesting....

With such a strong line up in the pro bracket its gonna be a mother the qualify.

I don't think its a question of stepping on your dick rather that you have 1 slightly indifferent game and thats it your out of it.

I'm assuming 12 qualify? In there will be Dynasty, the dogs, EXV, ton tons, russian legion

I expect the above to make the top 5 spots really. After that probables will be people like Nexus, avalanche maybe Joy Division. Being brutally honest i expect the euro teams to struggle (first tourney of the year) Remember the Cali teams have nice weather all year round plus its home turf.

Arsenal have something to prove. I think the semi's for them and thats about it. (Lots of controversy with them though. I expect a hugh bust up at one point in at least one of there games!)

As to the rest of them? Don't really know enough about the teams. Hopefully 1 or 2 surprises but in the end all the old favourites will make the finals. (Even shooting Shockers Dynasty will finish 1st of 2nd)

Thats my opinion anyway.

Go on Nexus prove me wrong an blast your way to your first win!

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Well it seems the Dogs won the XBall Div 1, well I say won they won all there games, so the new guns seem to be fine for them.

Arsenal have lost Klumper and Travis, both gone back to walt hog miller, so reported on another forum.

Dynasti will always be in the top 4 no matter what they shoot.

Ton Ton's are fired but for the Event so have high hopes for them.

The Russians near right them off, I am sure in the off season they have been training training and more training.

Nexus I am sure with Mark not there, that will not hinder them at all :D and they will do well.

So that is all I have to say to that.

I reckon that Avalanche will do well at this event, home turf for the Cali guys should give them a huge advantage.

Dynasty, Dogs and BC always do well. I would hope to see Joy up there, cos in Miami they were awesome, losing one game all tournament! Nexus looked good at Campaign, they will be fired up, looking for them to do well.

I am not sure about who will falter, i have never heard of some of the teams playing pro, Sedition, Organized Crime, Godspeed, Triple Tap...?

With Dogs beating Dynasty, and Avalanche beating XSV in L.A Xball i think it will stir up ome competition for HB big style

Dynasty to win, with Dogs, Avalanche and Bad Company up there in the top 4.:)

Shame that the Russian Legion will not be there, i couldnt see their name on the team list, maybe they are planning a late raid and will take everyone by storm?;)

Joy.

Dont worry about us, we will have no problems qualify for sunday. Promise. The team have NEVER been better. After Miami they have been practicing 2/week without a break.
Mellis and Alis are playing with XSV and will practice even harder after the event back in San Diego. Max Lundqvist is also playing after he helped some team win Skyball. And the rest of the kids are back in Stockholm practicing like mad.
Also our new gun will be used in HB, can you say MACHINEGUN!!!
The weekend before HB the team will have a practice against Dynasty in SC Village, cant wait to see how that plays out.

Its gonna be a fun year....

A lot of changes over the off-season, it will be interesting to see who comes on strong at the first event.

Avalanche, Smoke, Tippman, Redz Hurricanes - All good Am teams, but can they make the step up to pro? Will the new players and new owners screw up their team chemistry? I expect at least one of these to be a spoiler for an established team.

Bad Company - lost some key players and brought in some Image guys as replacements. Can TC rebuild for the first event?

BEAS - ended the year strong last year. Can they pick up where they left off?

Dynasty - they'd be in the top 4 shooting Talons, but can they take first with the new guns? And how long will it be before someone shoots their mascot? :D

Joy Division - Joy rocked prelims in Miami. I expect them to do the same in HB, only in finals (you hear that Magued? kick some ass! ;) )

Ton Tons - definitely not pleased with their performance in MIA, they're bringing two teams to HB. Should be interesting to see who makes the cut...

XSV - experience, talent and a chip on their shoulder, I think we'll see them on Sunday.

Arsenal - unproven and it sounds like they lost some key talent. Do they have the teamwork down yet? Can they keep it together if things get tough?

Disappointments - Redz, Arsenal

Contenders - XSV, Ton Tons, Nexus, Avalanche

Top 4 - Dynasty, Dogs, Joy, BEAS

PS - I didn't see Russian Legion in the team list. If they're there (and I hope they are), they're definitely a contender.
