Hi Guys, I would like to know what video software you use to edit you Paintball clips.?

My pc is 9 years old now and i am still using Windows XP to run MAGIX video software. I am soon to get a new pc and was also thinking about upgrading my Video software also.

After watching all the clips coming out these days i realized my stuff looks dated, also what camera are you using to capture your paintball action.

I use Vegas as I found it pretty easy to pick up. Might try Adobe stuff at some point, or FCP, but for what I do - the odd video, Vegas does what I want.

Camera wise, I use a Sony a55 which is a few years old now, again for what I do I'm pretty happy with it, but I know there are much better cameras out there. Occassionally use a gopro for paintball, but only to give me another selection of shots to use, not to replace the main camera, as the quality on the main is so much better, unless you have amazing light (such as when skiing) in which case the gopro does well.

This was all shot on the a55
This was shot on a mix of the gopro and a55
This was shot entirely on the gopro (not paintball)

Cheers for the reply, some great footage and editing there, really enjoyed watching them, I have spoke to some of my team m8s briefly some time ago about maybe combining footage captured to create diff angles of the same action, you eluded to using different camera's for the same video.
I think using very short action clips like you have keeps the video entertaining, I know from past I have maybe shown too much of the same clip which can become boring to watch.
I have a Hitachi hand held camera, which is fine for recording action from the side lines i.e. sup air but not for scenario paintball it’s not practical, the action happens randomly. I love the quality of the gopro but I just am not a fan of its shape. Team m8s have bullet cams which are great but you cannot see what you have captured until you get home and plug the SD card into your pc.
Cheers again for the reply and great videos.

Not meaning to Thread Jack but out of interest; Ben Halsey and HPUKer when using Sony Vegas have you had a problem with the Audio on some clips 'Muting' after a while of editing many segments at all ?
Otherwise Vegas Pro is tops or try Adobe Premiere CS6.

See, I use Final Cut Pro, and colour grade in Adobe After Effects or Davinci Resolve when it decides to work. It depends what you're thinking of filming on as to wether or not you need colour grading though. It's debateable. I only use it because I'm trying to get into a cinemaDNG workflow.

As far as cameras go - I use a Sony NX5 currently. But I shall soon be upgrading to a FS700EK (hence the workflow change. I'll also be transferring over to Premiere Pro.)

In all honesty, the line between Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro is hazy as heck, but I've never used Sony Vegas, so unfortunately can't comment on that.

Here's an example of my work though:
