Hi guys, just about to get back into paintballing after a long time out.

I am looking to buy a marker in a few weeks time and i have it down to a Planet Eclipse Etha or ETEK4.
So i am just looking for a bit of advise to see what people would recommend out of the 2.

I am planning to play a lot of walk-ons and that, but i also wanna take part in tournaments and super-air and be part of a team later on.
I have been told that both guns are good, solid, reliable and easy to maintain, i just need help to see what is better for taking part in a full range of different playing types, from walk-on to more tournament style.

I have a nice budget of around £600 (can go a little more, if needed) for a full setup.

What do you need for that budget, just gun, loader and air bottle, or do you also need goggles and playing kit?

Although both are great guns, personally I prefer the Ego/ETEK platform, but of course there is a price difference. Have you considered an older Ego for example?

I'm sure you'll hear this a million times, priority one is getting a nice NEW set of goggles that you like and feel comfortable with. Sod appearances or whatever's trendy, try them all on at your local site and get which ever you feel most comfortable in and can afford. I think any other piece of kit you can go pre-owned but assign a chunk of your budget for some fresh goggs.

Yeah, goggles is 100% going to be my first buy, its exactly what i did last time. I'm going to NPF a week Saturday for my first game in 10 years, lol. so i am going to see if i can try on a few goggles and take things from there.

Spot on dude. With regard to to the gun, I don't think you can loose with either gun you've suggested. The thing is, there are sooo many markers out there, particularly within that price range, if you decide to go pre-owned it's absolutely a buyers market at the moment.
