Which ION board ?

Hi guys,

I saw these and was just wondering which ones you guys would prefer and why.

Some aren't out yet however. If there are others which aren't listed, then please post them up.

What interested me was this which you get with the APE Ion board: http://www.zdspb.com/media/ion/mainboard_am_ape1.jpeg

It also says that the Virtue PB ION board has not got an 'Adjustable ramp activation count', which dissapointed me a little.

Comments ?

this is a popular questions among ion owners and nearly always asked. Point is that its your own preference really. No one can tell you what is best, they all have good and bad points, and nearly all of the Boards are the same. Ask around, see if you can have a few goes on other peoples ion's who have different boards and see how you like it.

i think im missing 1 more, not sure.

I believe the best are the Virtue and Tadoa and maybe the Tboard.

Well I've seen this around a lot but I have never before seen any mention of the APE board and some of the other boards listed, which is why I made this thread.

I understand that the Virtue and APE boards (can) have membrane pads on the back of the grip for extra control, but do any of the others feature this ?

I also looked at the site for the Tadoa board but found no mention of a version for the Ion.

As far as I can see, other than the stock board, the currently most used board is either the Blackheart or the Virtue, but as I said before I havn't seen anyone using any of the others.

Does anybody use these other baords and can comment on them ?

You can get any board you like but if you are using the stock solenoid you will be stuck with unreliability, problems with dirt in your solenoid, high battery consumption, problems when the battery gets low, high dwells which mean more air consumption and lower maximum rate of fire.

The lucky board is the only one that uses the mac solenoid. Its also membrane compatible, has plenty of fully adjustable modes and the most optimised eye and trigger logic around on the most powerful chip in paintball.

Plus with Luckys pricing policy its probably gonna be cheaper than all the others too.

Hmm, thanks for all of the info.

It's a big choise really as I havn't got the money to go buying a third if I'm not happy with it.

I think the main things that I would require are: Low bat indicator, instant on, and some form of membrane pad as I hate the stock power switch.

I think the Lucky Stage 4 and the Tadao are most probably the two main options for me, although they aren't out yet so I might just get a Virtue membrane pad for now ... (They do work with the stock board, right ?)

if you have a stock board and you want a membrane pad, you have to solder it on, bit messy. I can sell you a DYE membrane pad if your good with that sort of thing though for £6. Or you could by a T board off me with membrane pad for £60
