HSE are approved for use in the UK, and DOT for use in the US. Current state of play is that you can't get a DOT bottle tested in the UK, so once they are 3 years old you might as well throw them away. Rumour has it that they are going to change the law in the UK so DOT bottles will be OK, but that could take years if it ever happens so for safety's sake you should get an HSE bottle.Originally posted by Captain Scarlet
What is the main difference between HSE and DOT bottles? which is 'better'?
Errm... i thought if the country was part of the EU then you didn't have to pay Tax on importing it? Maybe im wrongOriginally posted by Shuck
Although items may seem cheaper in European Countries, don't forget about the shipping, and the VAT you have to pay. Normally puts the price back upto about UK prices after all that has been added on.
In this case, that wouldn't be relevant anyway. All the other EU dealers have to go through Smart Parts Europe so they wouldn't be selling anything much cheaper than you can get it here anyway. You would still have to pay postage & packing which would be more expensive from the mainland that within the UK.Originally posted by Munkeh
