Where are all the front players ???

Lincoln Storm are holding team tryouts on 6th November for the 2006 season.

We've had plenty of response and confirmed attendance by backs and mids but only a couple of young front players - can't understand this as most front players are young in my experience and should be jumping at the chance to get involved with a well sponsored team - with all the backing that involves both financial and organisational.

This is a great opportunity to take your game forward and be involved with a team which will really help you do this.

How many of you are sat there thinking rather than going out and doing ??

Take charge and do something about it !! Don't just read about top pros - work hard and get there !!

just an idea...

maybe you coud stop pigeon holing players into back, mid, front roles, no such thing these days. you need players who can play everywhere.

also try making your trailists play every position and see how they do, you might find that guy who makes a mediocre back player is awesome when thrown into the snake.. never know till you try.

I agree guys,

But it's actually players who pigeon hole themselves in the U.K - I think our squad at present is very versatile and rounded and can play anywhere on the field - even diving into snakes which our mids and backs love to do

The simple fact is that in todays game to be a really consistant front guy - you need to be small, young, fast and aggressive - a team needs guys up front to rip holes in the opposition - anyone can say "I'll play front" but to want to do it and to be good at it are too different things all together. I'm 37 and would love to play front - I know what a front guy needs and how to play front bunkers well - but actually doing it is a differant matter. I played front and mid for 3 yrs before moving to the back corner.

Know what you mean, the ZONE frt line are all over 30 bar 1, and he ain't a teenager !!

Been trying to move back to mid for years but untill we find someone better up frount than me and Steve were stuck there !

We did get our back line crawlling snakes all year tho so who knows
