Well for starters it needs to be recognised as a sport by various official bodies. Hotpoint is doing a sterling job, supported by others like Sparklie Chick, to try to get us this recognition but currently any official bodies seem to be trying to find any excuse for not admitting us to their "club". The same discussion comes up every time there's a major multi-sport event, like during the Olympics last year.

Any updates Hotpoint?

As always I am currently waiting for a reply from the Sports Councils to my last letter which totally annihilated their last set of feeble arguments as to why they shouldn't recognise us

I have been working on this for over three years and I'm really starting to get annoyed with them now. They bring a whole new dimension to the concept of bureaucratic Red-Tape :(

Patrica the lovley lady yorklie and my self ahve been liasing with had an office at chystal palce last year she was not allowed to go see what it is was about the first she knew about paintball was the meeting yorkie set up and I helped him with at abridge.

This is very sad but also true some one is closing door and dosen't want it to happen. But I belive if we persiver and get public opinion on side things will have to change all be it very very slowly.

Hot probably the reason they aint answering back is because, like you said , you wiped the floor with their arguments and they thinking on how to respond.

I really think these people are stuck on the thought of paintball being a war game and thus does not qualify as a sport which is BS to you and me but it aint to them.

Invite them to the Campaign Cup in England which aint long off but ask em anyways.
Here they will see paintball as it is, a SPORT!!!!!

They will see the spectator capability of this sport and will marginalise their pathetic arguments.

One of the major things stopping paintball being recognised for the Olympics/Commonwealth Games is that we

(a) Do not have an international governing body
(b) We do not have a drug testing policy in place for our international competitions. (And god help some teams when we do ;) )

On an aside - we managed to get our national association recognised by Sports & Recreation New Zealand over here - took a bit of talking, but we're there now.
