What's Up With Smart Part's New Barrels?

Now, is it just me, or do the new barrels from smart parts looks like some sort of object from a cheesey si-fi movie? I mean, take the progressive and the Linear, they look like some sort of space-age anal probe, don'tcha think?

and maybe its only me and my clumsyness but i can imagine them snapping at the thinner part pretty easilly

They are a bit like a modern, stretched version of a Tulip (Penis) Barrel.
