Whats the rip drive for Halo's?

I saw them on the planet website and I was just wondering what they do.

its a manual override for your halo, so if your batts die or your hopper packs up mid game you can still put a stack of balls under tention in the hopper and keep shooting rather than having to take the hopper off and hand feed it
