Have you thought about installing it with your windows CD

open up any jpg with windows viewer. At the bottom there are some buttons (start slideshow, next etc) and click on the "open up for editing" button.

Theres paint. Its like magic.

GIMP is meant to be the free equivilent to photoshop and just as good

photoshop is good, but it's a pain to get used to, a graphics tablet is a must
