I have played quite a lot of games and marshalled more times that I can remember. So I am thinking about joining a local team and play in tournaments.
So I am looking for a marker. I prefer to spend quite a bit on a decent marker, not buy some thing cheap to begin with and then buy another one later.
So, it must be decent, good value for money and will probably wanting to buy second hand.
I was thinking about an Impulse?????
What do you guys think?

yea an impys a good choice, but remember, what everyone says is theyre opinion, always try before you buy, if someone suggests something then try and find someone that will let u try that marker. im sure people wouldnt mind showing off theyre nice shiny markers, to persuade u to get one just like theyres.

Impys are okay yeah but they need alot of moding to make em a nice gun. if you want a nice top end marker go for something like a timmy or angel speed or A4, i would personnaly say go for a viking but hey not everyones as lucky as me to get one before they stopped making them :D :p ;)

Stroke the badge Kenneth!
One on the boards at the moment, cough, advert, cough.

;)

Seriously though, as its the first tournament marker you are buying, I would recommend something that needs very little maintenance.

Impys are ok, cheap at the moment and the new WAS board and eye is now out so will go as fast as your internals will allow.

Angels, all angels that I have had have been reliable and easy to maintain. If you are buying an ir3 or A4 the thing tells you what to do.

Viking, doesn't look flashy but is insanely quick and needs very little maintenance. Also as they are no longer making the markers, now are rare.

Cockers, very nice , get it set up by a tech then leave it alone.

Matrix's / Shockers not too difficult as if anything goes wrong will probably be o ring related. Just needs more time to keep it running well. Lubed after each use.

Timmy's, I have never gotten on with them myself, but i have seen them perform really well.

My 2p worth, hope its of some use.

By the way I have/do own/ed them all.

One other thing I would add to the good advice above is that if you're getting your first marker, or are technically challenged like me, consider whether you have someone nearby who would be able to tech whatever you get. It could be a decent paintball shop or a mate who knows their stuff, but otherwise it can cost a fortune to post markers off to a dealer for servicing & there would be a chance it could get damaged in the mail system.

Thanks for all the advise.
Looks like I may try to try out a Impulse or an Angel and see which one of the two I like the best and go for that one.
Thanks.
